HUS JORVI, HELICOPTER FIELD

The existing helipad had to be moved to the roof of the emergency building in the Jorvi area to make way for the new hospital building for the HUS Jorvi hospital in Espoo. Pektra Oy delivered steel structures for the helipad and the associated stairwell and the steel structures for the exit staircase installed.

The site was a challenging conversion for an existing building, where site activities were carried out on top of an ongoing hospital building. In addition, connections to existing buildings required special expertise, so that the vibrations of the helicopter frame can be isolated from the structure below with the help of dampers.

EVENT CENTRE, KOTKA

During 2022, Pektra delivered approx. 300 t of steel frame to Event Centre Satama, which will be opened in the summer of 2023. The building serves as a setting for various events, such as concerts, exhibitions, sports events, and meetings and congresses.

Architecturally, the building is a wonderful example of Finnish know-how in wood construction, but at the same time it is a great example of using different materials according to their strengths. The construction category of the building was EXC3.

Extension building for Raniplast factory in Teerijärvi. Pektra delivered the main steel frame and external stair tower for the project. Columns were composite steel concrete structures and other structures were fire protected with fire painting. Fire rating for the building was R60. In addition to structural steel Pektra assembled all Insulated steel elements for the walls.

Masala Arena

Masala Arena is a private sports centre located in Kirkkonummi. The planned opening date is in autumn 2021. http://masalaarena.fi/

Pektra delivered optimized and tailored main steel frame for the building. Main frame contains steel columns, beams, bracing system and 45 m long steel trusses. Execution class for the project was EXC3. Roof structure was made with timber element system.

Ratamo-Hospital

Ratamo is a new hospital for Kouvola. Pektra delivered HVAC room frames, canopies and frames for facades for the project. This is a great example of architectural possibilities with steel structures.
